Why it matters

The moment passes in about four seconds.

A customer is happiest right after you have served them, standing at your counter with their phone already in their hand. That is the only moment they will ever leave you a review, look at tonight's specials, or follow you. Then they walk out.

Asking out loud is the hard part.

Staff forget. Customers mean to and never do. A card with a web address gets left on the table, and a QR code means opening a camera, lining up a square and hoping it focuses.

A tag removes every one of those steps. Hold a phone near it and the page is already open.

How it works

Three steps, and only one of them is yours.

1

Send us your link

Your Google review page, your menu, your Instagram — whichever you want the tag to open. We program it, test it on an iPhone and an Android, and ship it within two days.

2

You put it down

On the counter, by the card machine, on the table, at reception — wherever a happy customer already pauses. It needs no power and no wifi.

3

They tap

The phone opens your page. No app to install, nothing to type, nothing to scan. Most people are finished before they have put their coat on.

On the table, pointing at the menu you already have online.
A stallholder holding out a keychain tag as a customer taps their phone on it.
Or on a lanyard, for anyone who works away from a counter.
What we make

One tag, five shapes.

Same chip, same setup, same price — pick whichever suits the room. Every one arrives programmed to your link and ready to use.

A black NFC review card reading Review us on Google, with five stars.

Cards

Pocket-sized and hard-wearing. Hand one over, leave one by the till, keep a few in an apron.

A round NFC keychain on a split ring, printed with the Instagram mark.

Keychains

Clip it to a lanyard or a bag. Good for market stalls, trades and anyone who works away from a counter.

A round white NFC sticker reading Review us on Google, one corner peeling up.

Stickers

Sticks flat to a counter, a window or a card machine. The one that disappears into the room.

A red NFC counter stand reading Review us on Yelp, standing on its own folded base.

Counter stands

Stands up on its own and stays visible. The one people notice without being told.

A black Tap to view our menu board seated in a wooden base.

Menu stands

Points at the menu you already have online. No reprinting when the specials change.

Our story

Started with a box of tags and a list of shops.

Five Star Tap began the way most small things do — one person, a box of tags, and a lot of walking into businesses to explain what they were for. Alex started it because he kept noticing the same gap: owners who did great work, knew reviews mattered, and had no comfortable way to ask.

It is still early. We are based in Putnam County, New York, and the shops we know best are the ones around here, in Westchester and over in Fairfield. But a tag works the same in Denver as it does in Brewster, so we ship anywhere in the country and set it up for you before it goes out.

That means when you email us, you are emailing the person who programmed your tag. For now, that is the whole company — and we think it shows in how quickly you get an answer.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Does my customer need an app?
No. Tapping a tag is built into the phone itself. On an iPhone the page appears as a banner to tap; on Android it usually opens straight away.
Which phones work?
Every iPhone from the XR onwards reads tags without unlocking anything, and effectively all Android phones sold in the last several years do too. If a phone is very old the tag simply does nothing — there is no error and no confusion.
Which platforms can a tag point at?
Google, Yelp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp and Snapchat, plus your own menu or website. A tag holds one link at a time, so one tag does one job — that is why most people start with two.
Do you print my business name on it?
Not as standard. The tags come pre-printed with clean artwork, and what makes one yours is the link inside it. That is what keeps them $40 and shipping in two days rather than two weeks. If you want custom printing for a larger order, ask and we will quote it.
How long until it arrives?
Programmed and shipped within two days of your order, then normal post from New York. It arrives ready to use — putting it on your counter is the whole installation.
What if I move premises or change my listing?
Get in touch and we will re-program it free. Nothing is printed on the tag, so it can be pointed somewhere new whenever you need — and we can walk you through doing it yourself over the phone.
Can I choose which reviews I get?
No, and neither can we. The tag opens your public review page, and whatever the customer writes is theirs. Filtering or gating reviews is against Google's policies and risks your listing. The tag makes it easier to ask everyone — it does not choose who answers.
Does it need power, wifi or a subscription?
None of the three. The tag has no battery and no connection — the phone powers it for the instant it is held nearby. You buy it once.
